Qatar Foundation (QF) is a not-for-profit organisation comprising over 50 institutions operating in the field of education, research, and community development. For the main office, Lualdi supplied a Canaletto walnut Wall&Door system including modular panels and integrated doors. For the Qatar National Library, the brand then developed a 3×6 m door which is now installed at the organisation’s main entrance. In line with the organisation’s mission, the door is deliberately always kept ajar, as a symbolic invitation to reading and learning. Unsurprisingly, the word “IQRA” – an exhortation  to read – is affixed  (in pure gold plated polished steel) to the door, as an invitation to all to engage in reading and study. The door, which is made of solid wenge wood, features an engraving – similar in appearance to a QR code – spread over three levels.
